Travelling in the Scottish Highlands in autumn means: no midges (!!!), great autumn colors and sometimes even better weather than in summer. The Glencoe Valley in the west of Scotland and the surrounding area are particularly worth seeing. As this region is quite famous, including from films such as James Bond and Harry Potter, there is also a lot going on here. You really have to be careful with the traffic on the narrow and bumpy roads, I've seen some bad accidents.
